Looking for the substantial amount of sweets without spending £4 or £5.

Other Iceland Halloween sweet listings include:

    • Haribo Sour Skeletons 160g – £1
    • Haribo Bone Shakers 160g – £1
    • Gummy Eyeballs 100g – £1
    • Strawberry Gummy Body Parts 100g – £1
    • Barratt Flumpkins Sour Pumpkin Marshmallows – £1

For a larger branded option, Iceland has also listed a Haribo Starmix Party Box 800g at £5, although the discounted Swizzels bag offers considerably better value by weight.

    Iceland’s standout deal

    Swizzels Sweet Mix 600g – £2.75 instead of £5.50.

That’s a saving of 50%, with a price per 100g of just 45.83p. Check the offer and stock availability before ordering.

Asda: discounted Swizzels and 40 Haribo mini bags

Asda has some interesting options for both Halloween-themed sweets and the sort of individually wrapped treats that make answering the door easier.

    Newly advertised offers include:

    • Swizzels Scary Mix 364g – £1.80, down from £2.
    • Swizzels Sweet Shop Favourites 650g – £3.50, down from £4.25.

The Swizzels Scary Mix is particularly competitive at approximately 49.45p per 100g, although the Iceland half-price bag still comes out cheaper by weight.

Asda’s Haribo Trick or Treat 40 Spooky Mini Bags were listed at £4 in our earlier October check. At 10p per mini bag, this could be a convenient way to prepare for a busy Halloween evening.

Other Halloween products in Asda’s range include Horror Emporium Sour Scream Monster Bites and Kreepy Ketchup Monster Claws, both previously listed at £1.

Best for trick-or-treaters: If you expect lots of children, Asda’s 40-pack of Haribo mini bags could be more practical than a large sharing bag. Remember that the lowest cost per gram doesn’t always mean the lowest cost per visitor.

Aldi: Halloween sweet tubs and discounted Swizzels

Aldi is still worth checking if you want Halloween-themed sweets, particularly because it has a selection of smaller seasonal products as well as larger tubs.

    Its newly advertised offers include:

    • Swizzels Sweet Shop Favourites 650g – £3.49, reduced from £3.89.
    • Halloween Chocolate Lollies 150g – £2.49, reduced from £2.69.

In our earlier October check, Aldi’s Halloween Sweet Tub 600g cost £3.69, containing spooky shapes including skulls, bats and ghosts.

Other seasonal options previously listed included Halloween Mallow Bags for 99p, Gummy Brains & Fizzy Spiders 160g for 99p, Chocolate Bats 100g for £1.99 and Halloween Munch Mix for £2.29.

    Aldi’s best bargain

The discounted Swizzels 650g bag at £3.49 works out at approximately 53.69p per 100g. For a more Halloween-themed bowl, the £3.69 seasonal tub is also worth checking.

    Tesco: Clubcard discounts on Haribo

Tesco’s Clubcard offers can be useful if you’re stocking up on branded sweets, although it’s important to compare them with the standard prices available elsewhere.

In our original October price check, Tesco was offering:

    • Haribo Starmix Megabox 800g – £4.50 with Clubcard, instead of £5.
    • Haribo Sharing Tub 600g – £4 with Clubcard, instead of £5.
    • Haribo Bone Shakers 160g – £1 with Clubcard, instead of £1.25.
    • Haribo Fruitilicious 20 Mini Bags 320g – £2.35 with Clubcard.

The 800g Starmix Megabox works out at 56.25p per 100g at the Clubcard price, which is more expensive by weight than Iceland’s newly discounted Swizzels bag.

Watch the Clubcard price: These offers were recorded earlier in October, so check that the promotional price is still active. Don’t assume a loyalty discount automatically makes something the cheapest option.

Lidl: Halloween discounts with Lidl Plus

Lidl has also been offering seasonal sweets through its Lidl Plus loyalty scheme.

    Our earlier October check found:

    • Spooky Jelly Mix – £4.24 with Lidl Plus, reduced from £4.99.
    • Choco Lollies – £2.28, reduced from £2.69.
    • Chewy Sweets – £5.09 with Lidl Plus, reduced from £5.99.
    • Sweets and Lollipop Mix – £5.09 with Lidl Plus, reduced from £5.99.
    • Cadbury Treat Size Sharing Selection – £2.45.

As with Tesco, the most important thing is to check whether the advertised discount is available to you and whether the offer is still running.

Morrisons: individually wrapped treats and More Card deals

Morrisons is worth considering if you want sweets that are already individually wrapped, particularly if you have a More Card.

In our earlier October comparison, its Swizzels Trick or Treat Lolly Mix 330g was £2.50 with More Card, down from £2.75.

The mix contains individually wrapped sweets including Drumstick lollies, Monster Double Lollies and Fruity Pops.

Morrisons also had Haribo Sour Skeletons 160g for £1 and a Swizzels Superstars Tub 630g for £3.50 with More Card.

MoneyMagpie tip: Individually wrapped lollies can make it easier to give each visitor one treat and keep track of how much you’re spending, particularly if you expect a lot of callers.

Sainsbury’s: Haribo mini bags with Nectar

Sainsbury’s was one of the strongest options for individually portioned sweets in our original October comparison.

Its Haribo Starmix Mini Bag Multipack, containing 22 x 16g bags, was £2 with Nectar, compared with £3 at the standard price.

That works out at approximately 9p per mini bag, making it a particularly interesting option if you expect lots of trick-or-treaters.

Other deals previously listed included Maltesers 11 x 18g fun-size bags for £3.50 with Nectar, Haribo Tangfastics 175g for £1 and Haribo Starmix 175g for £1.

    Best for individual portions

If the Nectar offer remains available, Sainsbury’s 22 Haribo mini bags for £2 is one of the most convenient options in the comparison, at around 9p per portion.

Home Bargains and Poundstretcher: don’t overlook the discount shops

While supermarket loyalty schemes attract a lot of attention, discount stores can offer competitive prices without requiring a membership card.

Home Bargains: big Haribo bags for £3.99

In our earlier October comparison, Home Bargains had Haribo Megastar 800g for £3.99, equivalent to approximately 49.88p per 100g.

It also listed an 800g bag of Haribo Jelly Babies & Wine Gums for £3.99 and Skittles Fruits 18 Fun Size Bags, 324g, for £2.29.

Halloween-themed options included Haribo Sour Skeletons 160g and Haribo Bone Shakers 160g for 99p each, Hallow Scream Body Part Platter Gummies 290g for £1.99 and Hallow Scream 4D Gummy Pumpkins 120g for 99p.

The Haribo Megastar bag remains a competitive benchmark, but Iceland’s discounted Swizzels now beats it by weight.

    Poundstretcher: Halloween sweets from 99p

Poundstretcher’s earlier October listings included several products at 99p:

    • Monster Mix Sweets 150g
    • Pumpkin Candy Cup 230g
    • Halloween Mallows
    • Haribo Balla Bites 140g
    • Rowntree’s Fruit Pastilles 114g
    • Maynards Jelly Babies 110g
    • Maynards Wine Gums 110g

However, some products were showing as unavailable online, so these are worth treating as potential in-store bargains rather than guaranteed deals.

    Discount-store wildcard

Home Bargains’ £3.99 Haribo 800g bag is a strong alternative if the Iceland offer sells out. Meanwhile, Poundstretcher’s 99p lines may be useful if you only need a few extra packets.

How to spend less on Halloween sweets

Finding the cheapest sweets isn’t just about choosing the shop with the biggest discount. The type of sweets you buy and how you plan to hand them out can make a difference too.

    • Compare price per 100g: This is particularly useful when choosing between large sharing bags and tubs.
    • Calculate the cost per portion: If you’re expecting 40 trick-or-treaters, a 40-pack costing £4 gives you a straightforward budget of 10p per visitor.
    • Check loyalty-card offers: Tesco Clubcard, Nectar, Morrisons More Card and Lidl Plus may reduce the price, but only if the promotion is still active.
    • Don’t buy more than you need: A huge bag isn’t necessarily a saving if you end up with far more sweets than you planned to hand out.
    • Look for reduced seasonal stock: Halloween-specific products can be discounted as the date approaches, although popular lines may sell out.

Don’t be fooled by the biggest percentage discount

Half price sounds fantastic, but it doesn’t automatically mean something is the cheapest option.

For example, Iceland’s Swizzels Sweet Mix is currently the standout deal in our comparison at 45.83p per 100g. However, if you only need 20 individually portioned treats, a smaller multipack might cost you less overall.

The best bargain is the one that meets your needs without leaving you spending more than you intended.

How we compared Halloween sweet prices

MoneyMagpie’s original comparison was compiled on 6 October 2026 and covered major UK supermarkets and discount retailers. We subsequently added newly advertised offers on 23 October 2026, including Iceland’s half-price Swizzels Sweet Mix and additional listings from Asda and Aldi.

Where product weights were available, we calculated the cost per 100g. For individually portioned sweets, we also compared the approximate price per mini bag.

Earlier October prices have been retained as reference points and should not be treated as independently reconfirmed on 23 October. Availability and promotions may vary by store and online delivery area.

MoneyMagpie’s verdict: where should you buy Halloween sweets?

Best big-bag bargain: Iceland. The Swizzels Sweet Mix 600g at £2.75, reduced from £5.50, is the cheapest by weight among the highlighted large branded sweet deals, at approximately 45.83p per 100g.

Best alternative big bag: Home Bargains. Its previously listed Haribo Megastar 800g for £3.99 works out at approximately 49.88p per 100g.

Best Halloween-themed selection: Aldi. Its seasonal sweet tubs and smaller spooky bags offer plenty of options if you want something more Halloween-specific.

Best for individually portioned treats: Sainsbury’s or Asda. Compare Sainsbury’s 22 Haribo mini bags for £2 with Nectar against Asda’s 40-pack for £4, subject to the current promotions remaining available.

Ultimately, it may be worth buying your main sweets from one shop and picking up a few Halloween-themed extras elsewhere, rather than assuming everything has to come from the same supermarket.

    Frequently asked questions

Where is the cheapest place to buy Halloween sweets in 2026?

Among the highlighted big branded bags in our updated comparison, Iceland’s Swizzels Sweet Mix 600g at £2.75 offers the lowest price per 100g, at approximately 45.83p. Other offers and smaller products may be cheaper depending on what you need.

Is Iceland’s Swizzels Sweet Mix really half price?

The advertised reduction takes the 600g bag from £5.50 to £2.75, representing a 50% saving. Check the current listing and availability before buying.

Where can I buy Halloween sweets for under £1?

Earlier October listings included 99p Halloween sweets at Aldi, Home Bargains and Poundstretcher. Availability may vary, particularly as Halloween approaches.

What are the cheapest sweets for lots of trick-or-treaters?

Individually portioned multipacks can make budgeting easier. In our original October check, Sainsbury’s had 22 Haribo mini bags for £2 with Nectar and Asda had 40 Haribo mini bags for £4.

Should I buy Halloween sweets in bulk?

Bulk bags often offer a lower price per 100g, but they’re only good value if you’ll use the sweets. If you’re expecting fewer trick-or-treaters, a smaller multipack could be cheaper overall.

Price disclaimer: Original comparison checked 6 October 2026, with additional offers added 23 October 2026. Prices and availability can change without notice, and online and in-store prices may differ. Loyalty-card prices require membership of the relevant scheme. Check the retailer’s current offer before making a special journey.
