Digital business is becoming a popular channel for many organizations and individuals to reach customers. This method facilitates both buyers and sellers, but it also gives rise to many situations in tracking transactions, determining responsibility, and coordinating management among relevant authorities.
After graduating from high school in 2024, Ms. Le Thi Cam Tien from Dam Rong 3 commune started her “entrepreneurship” by building a sales channel through social media platforms. Her main products are for children. Ms. Tien said: “The multi-channel sales management system will help me track and update orders, making it more convenient to promote my products.”
According to Ms. Tien, before <a s management. This is one of the necessary requirements for verifying seller information, contributing to the transparency of online business operations.
Like Ms. Tien, more and more people are choosing to do business on e-commerce platforms and social media. This form of buying and selling is becoming popular from urban to rural areas; from vegetables and fish to high-value products, everything can be traded quickly with just a few clicks.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, as of September 2026, the province had 554 e-commerce platforms, 8 applications, 439 online sales websites, and 6 registered e-commerce trading floors. The local e-commerce platform sanphamdiaphuong.com.vn had 858 accounts and 956 products.
Over the past period, the province has organized training courses on e-commerce techniques for 2,200 businesses, households, and officials. Simultaneously, 60 businesses and households have been supported in participating in domestic and international trading platforms such as Alibaba, Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, Tridge, Gobiz, etc. To date, approximately 35% of export businesses in the province use websites or e-commerce applications to showcase their products.
Currently, 50% or more of the population shops online through e-commerce platforms, social networks, apps, and websites. B2C e-commerce sales account for approximately 10% of the province’s total retail sales of goods and consumer services.
Strengthening accountability in the digital environment.
On social media, a seller can use multiple accounts or livestream to reach buyers. When disputes arise, identifying the seller, the origin of the goods, and the responsibility for resolving complaints can be difficult if the information is incomplete or lacks the ability to cross-reference. According to Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, another issue in managing online business is controlling counterfeit goods, trademark infringement, and goods infringing intellectual property rights. In the digital environment, monitoring business activities goes beyond simply identifying the seller; it also requires clarifying the origin of the goods, signs of infringement, and the responsibilities of all parties involved.
Accordingly, in the period 2026-2027, the Department of Industry and Trade will strengthen supervision of business activities on e-commerce platforms, websites, and social networks. Simultaneously, it will coordinate with platform management units to verify business entities, collect information, and process or request the removal of products showing signs of infringement. The industry and trade sector also aims to electronically transfer 100% of information and urgent warnings about acts showing signs of intellectual property infringement to the competent authorities within 24 hours of detection or receipt.
From the business perspective, providing accurate information, publicly disclosing the origin and characteristics of goods, and fulfilling transaction commitments are essential for building <a s information, return policy, and complaint channels before making a transaction.
When the responsibilities of each party are clearly defined and the handling of violations keeps pace with new business practices, e-commerce can develop on a foundation of transparency, ensuring consumer rights and creating a level playing field for competition.
